Kettler Rowing Machine


The Kettler Company manufactures leisure gear, fitness training equipment, and furniture among other items. Founded and head quartered in Germany in 1949, the company has operated in the USA since 1981; their head-quarters’ in the United States is situated at Virginia Beach, VA with authorized resellers and affiliates across the country from whom you can buy kettler products. Kettler’s rowing machines are designed for the amateur and the professional rower alike, or anyone who wishes to have a full body workout, and improve their fitness while training indoors. For rowing exercises, kettler offers four products; the Ergocoach LS, Kadett, Coach LS, and the x-row E3.

The Ergocoach LS has a relatively large LCD display, with 8 preset training programs to choose from, it is capable of measuring speed, distance, time, strokes, temperature of the environment, calories spent, and your heart rate. The user interface of the Ergocoach can be updated via USB, with new preset programs from the kettler website. Included with the monitor is a portable heart rate transmitter. As for dimensions, the ergo coach LS measures 71L x 22 W x 23 H inches, and weighs 98 pounds with a maximum user weight of 280 pounds. Kettler developed a proprietary braking system used in this model, which allows for an adaptable, manual, or programmable 25 – 400 watt electro magnetic resistance. The Kettler Kadett has a non-contemporary design with the rowing arms manufactured for a circular movement with an aim at simulating rowing in water more accurately. For resistance this model uses hydraulic cylinders which can be adjusted to suite your level of endurance; the Kadett supports 12 resistance levels. The display panel will show you your speed, distance rowed, time elapsed, strokes, calories spent and heart rate. The kettler measures 67 x 18 x 59 inches and weighs 275 pounds. The frame of the machine is not designed to fold but the handle arms can fold flat inwards. The foot plates on the Kadett are adjustable to suit users of varying heights; the plates come with grips and adjustable straps to secure the users feet.
